Editorial Policies
The International Online Journal of Education and Teaching (IOJET) is committed to upholding high standards of academic integrity, ethical responsibility, and transparency in scholarly publishing. These editorial policies define the expectations and responsibilities of authors, editors, and reviewers involved in the publication process.
1. Ethics Policy for Authors
Authors submitting manuscripts to IOJET are expected to conduct and report their research in an ethical and responsible manner.
Research involving human participants must be conducted with due respect for participants’ rights, dignity, and well-being. Authors are required to obtain informed consent from all participants, and such consent should be properly documented and made available upon request. Participant privacy and confidentiality must be protected at all times, and identifying information should be removed unless explicit permission for disclosure has been granted.
Where applicable, research involving human subjects must receive prior approval from an appropriate ethics committee or institutional review board. Authors should clearly state the details of ethical approval in their submissions.
Any financial, personal, or institutional relationships that could influence the interpretation of the research must be disclosed as potential conflicts of interest. Authors are also responsible for ensuring that their work is original. All sources must be appropriately cited, and plagiarism in any form is considered unacceptable. Manuscripts suspected of plagiarism will be investigated and may be rejected or retracted.
Authors must ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data presented. Fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of data is regarded as serious misconduct.
2. Editorial Responsibilities
Editors are responsible for managing a fair, objective, and transparent editorial process. Manuscripts are evaluated solely on their academic merit, relevance, and contribution to the field, without regard to the authors’ gender, race, nationality, or institutional affiliation.
All submitted manuscripts and related communications are treated as confidential. Editors and editorial staff must not disclose information about a submission to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, or publisher.
Editors must avoid handling manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest, including personal, professional, or financial relationships with the authors. In such cases, responsibility for the manuscript is assigned to another editor.
If errors or ethical concerns are identified in published articles, the editors are responsible for issuing corrections, clarifications, or retractions as appropriate.
3. Peer Review Policy
All manuscripts submitted to IOJET undergo a double-blind peer review process. The identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential to support impartial and unbiased evaluation.
Reviewers are expected to provide timely, constructive, and objective feedback based on the quality, originality, and contribution of the research. Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest that could affect their judgment and decline to review manuscripts where such conflicts exist.
4. Publication Ethics
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the research. All contributors who meet these criteria should be listed as authors.
Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal at the same time. Duplicate or concurrent submissions are not permitted unless clearly disclosed and approved by all relevant parties.
Research findings must be reported honestly and transparently. Methods and analyses should be described clearly to allow readers to understand and, where appropriate, replicate the work.
Authors retain copyright of their work while granting the journal the right to publish it under a Creative Commons license, enabling broad dissemination while protecting authors’ rights.
5. Data Availability and Sharing
IOJET encourages authors to make the data underlying their research available in reliable and accessible repositories whenever possible. A data availability statement should be included in the manuscript.
Authors are advised to retain raw research data for a reasonable period following publication, typically at least five years, and to provide data for verification or reanalysis if requested.
6. Plagiarism Policy
The journal maintains a strict policy against plagiarism. All submissions are screened using appropriate similarity-checking tools. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarized material will be rejected, and serious cases may be reported to authors’ institutions.
7. Corrections, Retractions, and Misconduct
Allegations of research or publication misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, or undisclosed conflicts of interest, are investigated carefully by the editorial board.
Minor errors in published articles may be corrected through an erratum or corrigendum. Serious errors or ethical violations may result in a retraction or an expression of concern to protect the integrity of the scholarly record.
8. Adherence to International Standards
IOJET aligns its editorial and ethical practices with internationally recognized standards, including those established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME). These principles guide the journal’s approach to research integrity, ethical oversight, and responsible publishing.
