TRENDS AND DEVELOPMENTS IN RHYTHM RESEARCH IN EARLY CHILDHOOD: A BIBLIOMETRIC ANALYSIS (2000-2025)
Abstract
This study offers a bibliometric research of studies on rhythm in early childhood covering 2000-2025. Records obtained from the Web of Science database, identifying 79 papers that matched the criteria for inclusion in the study were used as data. With the help of bibliometric methods and VOSviewer, the paper explored publication trends citations authorship, and keyword co-occurrence. Results show a continuous growth of both works and citations especially from 2015 onwards which indicates that academics have become more interested in this topic. The majority of the research was published in SSCI-indexed journals and mostly in article form. Main areas of interest in research relate to rhythm & its influence on language, cognitive, and motor development. However, newest fads are rhythm-based therapeutics, and learning supported by technology. At a broad level, the paper discusses the field becoming bigger and interdisciplinary but reminds that it continues to be a challenge for people to effectively connect, collaborate, and do research across a wide scale.
